What decides comfort and fit
Your height
The rollers need to reach your neck and shoulders, and the footrest needs to fit your legs. Check the listed height range, and sit in the chair if you're near either end of it.
Your weight and build
Check the listed weight limit for everyone who will use the chair. Broader shoulders and hips need a wider seat; XL frames run about 35 inches wide.
The track and mechanism
L and SL tracks run under the seat; 3D and 4D mechanisms let you change roller depth and rhythm. How that feels is personal, so compare two or three chairs back to back.
Your room
Compare the reclined length and the wall clearance with your space, and measure doorways, halls and stairs before you order.

How to test comfort in a showroom
-
1
Sit upright first
Let the body scan run and check where the rollers land on your neck and shoulders.
-
2
Check your legs and feet
Extend the footrest. Your feet should rest on the foot rollers without your knees bending awkwardly.
-
3
Try the recline
Recline fully and feel how the track follows your back and hips.
-
4
Change one thing at a time
Adjust roller intensity, then airbag pressure, then heat, so you know which setting you like.
Questions
Which massage chairs fit tall users?
The Osaki Atlas XL and Duke XL are listed for users up to 6′8″. For any chair, check the listed height range, or text us your height and we'll suggest models to try.
Which massage chairs fit larger users?
The Osaki Atlas XL and Duke XL are listed up to 400 lb, and the Kyota Joubu M880 4D up to 330 lb. Many Infinity models list 300 lb.
Which chairs fit a smaller room?
Look at wall clearance and reclined length together. The Osaki AI Apex Duo lists 1″ of wall clearance and the Osaki Ziva 4″; reclined lengths here range from 69″ to 80″.
Can a massage chair help with a medical condition?
We describe each chair's features, not health outcomes. If you have a medical condition, ask your doctor before using a massage chair.
Do I need an appointment to try them?
No. Walk into our San Jose or Pleasanton showroom any day during store hours. Call or text first if you want one specific model.
